Memo Gidley, accomplished open wheel racecar driver, shifter kart champion and pilot of the #77 KODAK Doran Racing Daytona Prototype will be conducting two Indoor Training Clinics in the San Jose area at LeMans Karting located in Fremont, California (www.LeMansKarting.com).

"The first Memo Gidley Secrets of Speed Indoor Racing Clinic in California was a huge success,” states Gidley from his home in Northern California. “Frankly, most top racecar drivers stay away from indoor kart racing because it is very specialized and requires certain techniques to go fast that are very difficult to master. In my clinics we tell the participants the honest and sometimes blunt truth about what they are doing wrong, and even more important, we then show them how to be fast,” continues Gidley.

The clinics will take place at the ultra fast LeMans Karting Circuit on Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd from 8 AM to 2PM. Space is limited and will be booked on a first come basis. Call (510) 770-9001 and tell them you want to learn from Memo.

"I am excited to host Memo and the Secrets of Speed clinic at our Fremont facility," said Rick Gaan, owner, LeMans Karting. "It's a rare opportunity to learn race-craft fundamentals from current professional drivers, let alone ones famous for effective instruction. I strongly believe that all racers, from rookie to pro-level, will benefit from this
cost-effective program and end up faster!" continues Gaan.

Not only do the participants in the Memo Gidley Secrets of Speed Karting Clinic learn the indoor and outdoor techniques that MG has spent 15 years perfecting, but they also have the opportunity to learn from an A list group instructors who are all winners and continue to win at the highest levels of racing. This includes Tom Dyer, Landon Yee, Brett Buckwalter and Fritz Leesman. Each of these talented drivers has National level experience both in karts and cars and brings a level of insight that fit each student.

“Memo and I are extremely happy with how this program has taken off,” states Secrets of Speeds co-author Jeff Grist. “We are booking dates all across the country with plans to expand into Mexico and Canada,” continues Grist from the Secrets of Speed headquarters in Ontario, Canada.

The success of the Secrets of Speed book series is proof positive that there is a strong appetite for more information and insight into the mechanics and dynamics of karting. Feeding that pent up demand is the single-minded focus for both Memo Gidley and writing partner Jeff Grist. With four successful titles under their belt and more Memo Gidley Secrets of Speed books to come, this writing duo understands what kart racers are looking for in a how to-book. Being selected to work on other projects by publishers like Motorbooks is proof this writing team is on the right track.
