The Ontario Regional Karting Championship takes to the track for its penultimate round this weekend as karters assemble in Bowmanville, Ontario, at world renowned Mosport International Raceway. Class Championships will soon be on the line and as the show hits Mosport for the first time three drivers remain on perfect runs while three other classes have had a different winner through Goodwood, Hamilton and Innisfil.

Sitting perfect to date are Eric Gerrits, Artem Korolev and Fred Jordan. Kicking off the Saturday schedule in Rotax DD2 Gerrits has gone three-for-three in beginning his tenure with Innisfil Indy/GP and has nearly put the title out of reach. Curtis Fox is the only other driver to take the podium more than once in the class, taking third from Goodwood and Hamilton. Also in the day one lineup, Artem Korolev has been perfect in 60cc Cadet through three starts for Goodwood/Intrepid. Much different in this case is that Harrison White has taken second in all three events and remains very much in the title hunt. Fred Jordan is the other perfect racer to date as he has taken his Awesome/Gold kart to the top of the blocks three times for funracers.ca. The streak is the only perfect run remaining from the Sunday schedule.

The three classes that have nine different winners through the opening rounds are Senior Honda, Junior Honda and F1-K Junior. All three running as part of the Saturday lineup, Senior Honda has produced some of the best racing to date as some of the biggest names in Honda racing have taken checkers ahead of the field. Marco DiLeo won the first event for Goodwood/Intrepid before Innisfil/GP teammates Frank Launi and Alex DiFrangia took the next pair. The class remains very much up in the air, just as it does in Junior Honda where Kevin Monteith, Reid Arnold (Gold) and Austin Milwain have exchanged wins. Monteith (firstkart.com) currently has the edge in the championship with a pair of second-place runs complementing his win while Milwain (Intrepid) has nearly matched the feat with a first, second and third through three rounds. In F1-K Junior the three winners have been Kenneth O’Keefe, Ethan Livingstone and Karl-Denis Allard-Turcotte.

Prefinal action begins at 11:30 each day with Finals taking the green at 2pm. Building on the success of its recent Summer Festival of Karting, Mosport International Karting Association along with Ken and Robyn Flute will once again be providing live music and festivities Saturday night. The Mike Byers Band is scheduled to appear on stage and there will be a corn roast and community fire pit for all to enjoy.
