| Club News: Simcoe Kart Club - Driver and Mechanic Training Day |
Simcoe Kart Club will conduct its Driver & Mechanic Training Day on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton. The training day is mandatory for Cadet, Novice, Junior Lite and ALL rookie racers.
Below please find the ITINERARY as well as 2 LINKS to the downloadable copies of the Registration/Entry Form as well as the ASN Canada FIA Karters Test.
The entry fee includes payment for the racer, his/her mechanic, their lunch and an open practice after the presentation of the Graduation Certificates.
We ask that everyone please pay close attention to the weather conditions that day and that you all dress appropriately.
** RACER’S ITINERARY **
7:45 – 8:45 REGISTRATION & CHECK IN. **Entry form available HERE**
PRE-TECH ALL GO KARTS.
8:45 – 9:00 INTRODUCE THE INSTRUCTORS.
9:00 – 9:15 SAFETY MEETING.
9:15 – 9:30 REVIEW THE RACING FLAGS.
9:30 – 10:15 INSTRUCTORS & RACERS WALK THE TRACK.
(Parents & Guardians are welcome to walk the track but NOT with the racers).
10:15 – 12:30
SPLIT GROUPS: ON TRACK SKILLS Including & Not Limited to:
- NOVICE to North Track. -Process for Entering Pit Lane, Stopping Under Control,
- JUNIOR & SENIOR ROOKIES -Loss of Brakes-Stopping, Cornering at Speed,
to South Track. -Driving in Formation Lap, Mock Race Starts, etc.
12:30 - 1:00 LUNCH BREAK
1:15 - 3:30 ON TRACK EXERCISES as per above RESUME.
3:30 - 4:00 ASN Canada FIA WRITTEN TEST. **Test available HERE**
4:00 PRESENTATION OF GRADUATION CERTIFICATES with PICTURES.
*RACING SUITS MANDATORY for pictures.
4:30 – 6:00 OPEN PRACTICE.
** MECHANIC’S ITINERARY**
10:00 ENGINE CLINIC.
11:00 CHASSIS & TIRE CLINIC.
OPEN DISCUSSIONS and QUESTION PERIOD.
12:30 – 1:00 LUNCH BREAK.
ATTENTION ALL ATTENDING PARENTS, GUARDIANS & MECHANICS:
Please get involved in the Training Day Activities. Please volunteer to assist &/or flag a corner when you are available. The day will go much smoother and quicker when everyone lends a hand. Also, your driver will establish a comfort zone when they see you positioned around the track. At Simcoe Kart Club safety is first and foremost and your involvement is required to maintain our standards. Thank you.
