Alonso Kart USA springs back to action this weekend as team members contest a trio of championships across the United States. Derek Sobel will be at Road America, Cole Glasson will be in North Texas, and Jack West, Dore Chaponick Jr. and Devlin DeFrancesco will be at Homestead Karting for race five of the Rotax Max Challenge South Florida.

DeFrancesco returns to Florida riding high after winning in a pair of classes over the weekend in Canada. Racing at Goodwood Kartways in an Ontario Rotax Max Challenge Series, DeFrancesco took pole and won the final in both Micro-Max and four-stroke powered Novice. He will look to keep the podium run going this weekend at Homestead, where in his last outing he climbed the blocks after both race three and four. In fact, during the debut weekend for Alonso Kart USA, the trio of drivers set to start this weekend were never outside the top five. DeFrancesco had a pair of third-place results, Chaponick Jr. was fourth in race three and followed with a fifth in Rotax Junior, and Florida Winter Tour Champion Jack West was fourth in his team debut on Sunday. All three are also inside the top five in overall points, and after a full day of practice Saturday they will be looking for podium positions on Sunday.

Sobel, meanwhile, will be at Road America racing in the World Karting Association Zoom Zoom Nationals powered by Mazda. While the venue is different, the goal will be the same for the Alonso Kart driver as podiums are in the plan. Heading to the third round of five, Sobel is top-ten in a trio of classes, and surely one of the young drivers to watch. He is third in HPV Junior Sportsman, sixth in Cadet Junior Sportsman, and tenth in Yamaha Sportsman Lite. Through eight starts in the massive WKA fields, Sobel has raked in seven top-ten finishes and has been a consistent thread to podium.

Glasson will be near home at North Texas Kartway this weekend for Race 3 of the Summer Series after a very busy June. The month began with the eight-year-old capturing his second IKF Duffy and he followed it with a pair of second-place finishes in races five and six of the Southwest Regional Cup. His latest start was the Championship Karting International New Jersey Grand Prix, but sadly after three solid heat races including one with the fastest lap, engine woes left him unable to take the wave of the green on Sunday. He most certainly will this weekend, as Alonso Kart USA looks to podium in three states.
