Jesse Lazare’s 2010 karting season will kick off this weekend with the opening round of the Florida Winter Tour for Rotax classes. Lazare will compete in the ultra-competitive Rotax Max Junior class at this weekend’s event at The Orlando Kart Center.

“I am really ready to go this weekend,” Lazare said. “Our preparations for the winter tour are complete, now I am ready to race with my PSL Karting team.”

There has been very little ‘off’ season for Lazare since claiming the Coupe de Montreal Rotax Max Junior Championship in 2009. He competed at the SuperNationals in Las Vegas, but he has also managed to take a little time off.

“I had a break for Christmas, and that was good, but to be honest, I really wanted to get back racing again. Finally this weekend is here, and now my 2010 season will begin."

When asked about his expectations for this year, Lazare simply said, “I feel confident in my team and I have gotten to know them much better now since joining PSL Karting last year. I think we will have a good year in 2010.”

Lazare will compete in the full Florida Winter Tour before heading back to Canada to start his ‘summer’ season.

Jesse Lazare Quick Facts:

Lazare set new records in 2008 by starting out as vice-champion in the Florida Winter Tour, then winning both Honda Junior and Mini Max in both the Coupe Vega and Coupe de Montreal. He was also Canadian National Champion in Honda Junior.
