| Club News: Innisfil Kart Club - Road Trip Report |
This past weekend IKC started the first leg of our road trip in Orillia and it was great. We had a lot of people stop by to see the display and ask about the karts and how they could get involved in the sport. They ranged in age from very young kids to, well lets say, mature adults.
Most did not know that kart racing even existed and did know about the kart track in Innisfil (Innisfil Indy) and were very impressed with the karts and the videos and slide shows we had on display.
We had three karts on display and one was an arrive and drive kart that we allowed people to sit in and get a their picture taken. Kids were really excited about getting their picture taken in the kart, but we also had many adults take a seat in the kart as well.
The arrive and drive this year will be run by the Canadian Karting League at Innisfil and we are working together to get families involved in our sport. The A and D program is the least expensive way to get involved with kart racing and the next step would be club racing which will help our club grow as well as the sport its self.
Our next stop will be in Barrie, Ontario in two weeks at the Kazlov mall. In the next few days the pictures from Orillia will be posted on our website http://www.innisfilkartclub.ca so anyone who had their picture taken can go to the site and see their picture and get a copy to keep.
