Leaving a mark on her junior karting career, Canadian driver Emily Maddison will move to the senior ranks for the 2011 racing season. Racing on both the east and west coast of the United States and Canada, Maddison will see action in the ultra competitive senior ranks as she looks to have a breakout rookie season.

“A new season, a new class and a change in teams for me,” explained Maddison. “The competition will be very tough but the racing action will be great. I am confident that I will do well in my rookie season as a senior.”

Maddison will hit all the major karting series that the United States has to offer and will be a member of the Phil Giebler Racing program and the FA Kart product line while competing in the United States and the Overdrive Motorsports/PCR Karts group while in Canada. Utilizing both a Rotax and TaG powered package, the Alberta, Canada resident will compete in more than fifteen of the toughest event weekends that North America has to offer.

Looking to keep her program simple, Maddison will utilize Overdrive Karts prepared Rotax motors for all events with both her PCR and FA Kart machines. Also, turning the wrenches north of the border for all Canadian events will be long time tuner Terry Ventresca.

During the winter months, Maddison will see action in both the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas on the west coast and the select events at the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour on the east coast. Looking to build on previous seasons results, the young female pilot will utilize these two programs to prepare for her 2011 national campaign of karting.

When the winter series come to an end, Maddison will begin to rack up the frequent flyer miles as she will crisscross North America and do battle in the Western Canadian Championships, Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour and the Rotax Pan-American Championship. Maddison will also travel to Montreal, Quebec for the prestigious Canadian National Championships in mid-August as well as the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas, Nevada in November.

Maddison continued, “The 2011 season will be a steep learning curve for me but I am up for the challenge. I have had a lot of success in the junior divisions and hope that I can quickly adapt to the increase in horsepower and the more aggressive drivers in the senior classes.”
