| Club News: Lombardy Karting Association - Race #1 Report |

 | | Senior Heavy Podium |
It was a great weekend at Lombardy Raceway Park as karters from all over Ontario spent Saturday on the track preparing for Sunday's Race #1 of Lombardy Karting Association's 11 race series.
The changes to the front straight this year have made this track even faster and the addition of some curbing and the new barriers added up to some exciting racing.
The no nonsense, fun approach to karting that LKA has become known for has really paid off this year as membership has doubled already with lots of new karters taking to the track for the first time this past weekend.
As always the golden goose class at Lombardy, Box Stock was a crowd pleaser as racing was close and some great battles were fought between the local veterans and the newbies, the addition of the new spec tire and throttle stop have really leveled out this class.
The addition of the Briggs LO206 has been a huge boost to our senior classes as some racers from Box Stock have made the jump up to the senior classes allowing us to field both a Senior Light class as well as a Heavy class for some great spec class racing.
Lannins Funeral Home of Smiths Falls was our raceday sponser, owned by the Hilton family, the father and son team of Bill and Dale Hilton have been huge supporters of the track as well as Dale's involvement with LKA as promo director, Dale is a graduate of our Box Stock class and has moved up to Briggs Heavy this season.
