Canadian karter Jesse Lazare has completed his first championship run as a Senior competitor in the Rotax Max division. Lazare finished a solid fifth in the 2012 Florida Winter Tour, collecting one final win along the way.

"It was definitely an experience," Lazare said of his first taste of Senior competition.
"I knew it was going to be tough with so many quality teams and drivers, but overall I think I learned a lot and I am more prepared to take on the rest of the season."

Lazare this year is once again teamed with Steve Chapman as his tuner and they are using Intrepid equipment. "Jesse did a good job of driving in the Senior class," Chapman said. "I think he will be ready for the challenges that await him in 2012."

The highlight of the Florida Winter Tour for Lazare was taking an overall win at Homestead, and that gave the 14-year-old a good confidence boost. "It was great to get the first win out of the way," Lazare said. "More importantly, Steve and I were able to work good together to get the most out of the Intrepid week in and week out. This will really help as we move to the next challenge in Europe."

Lazare will now concentrate on racing in Europe this year as part of the Intrepid Team.
