The Simcoe Kart Club and Toronto Kart Club recently held their annual Driver & Mechanic training day at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton.
Mother Nature delivered a chilly day, but that wasn’t enough to curb anyone’s enthusiasm. Thanks to the efforts of all the team leaders, on track assistants, and volunteers, all of the planned activities outlined in the itinerary were executed in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
A total of 17 karters graduated from the program, with a collective impressive 93% average on their New Karter Test. In alphabetical order, the karters were Alec Drummond, Khloe Drummond, Tyler Edwards, Michael Fish, Jade Franklin, Tyler Freier, Tanner Hamilton, Phoenix Humphrey, Zachery Latimer, Nicky Palladino, Adam Pellew, Beckham Reznik, Aaron Rohrer, Gianluca Savaglio, Isabella Savaglio, Vassil Tchiplakov, and Jared Vegter.
“First I want to thank Lynda and Enzo and all of the volunteers for putting on an awesome training day,” stated Fred Vegter, father of graduate Jared Vegter. “Both Jared and I learned a lot. Jared was a bit nervous when we arrived, but at the end of the day he had a big smile on his face when he fell asleep in the truck on the way home.”
Gord Tomlin, the Simcoe Kart Club webmaster, will be posting a photo gallery of pictures taken during the day by Jeff Stephenson.
The 2012 season officially commences for the Simcoe Kart Club and Toronto Kart Club on May 6, with Race 1 at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton.
