The Waterloo Regional Kart Club started the 2012 season with on one its best ever attended races at Flamboro Speedway, but the real excitement happened on the track. The clubs racers put on a great show, once again demonstrating that the Honda 4 cycle program provides some of the best wheel-to-wheel racing around. In the Jr. Heavy final race the top-five karts were within 2 seconds of each other at the checkered flag. The racing was intense in the heat races in every class, because if you didn’t get a good starting position for the final you had a lot of karts to pass to end up on the podium.

The race day sponsor was Deschenes Lake Tourist Camp. When looking for a place to escape and enjoy a peaceful lake side destination, Deschenes Lake Tourist Camp is the place to go. Located in Westree Ontario with 100's of lakes in the area, anglers can fish for Walleye, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout and Great Northern Pike. Hosts Jacqueline and Wayne Robillard can be reached at 905-627-7056 during the off-season, or at the camp during the season by calling 705-263-2046, For more information visit http://www.dltc.ca

In the Cadet A class it was Luke Pero taking the first feature win of the year, Kyle Da Silva drove hard to a second place finish. Josh Bisschop had a strong run to finish in third place, with Keidon Fletcher and Trevor Robillard rounding out the top-five. Cadet B had Carson Nagy taking the win, with Dylan Sampson in second place, Kora Bowler in third, Grace Baillargeon in fourth, and McKenzie Davis in fifth.

The Novice A class win was claimed by Ciarra Collison, while Aaron Turnbull was second, Madison Colling third, Austin Wadham fourth, and Tristan Da Silva claimed the fifth place. The Jr. Lite race saw Austin Bisschop take the win, posting the fastest race lap in the process. Jordan Howse was second, Kaitlin Neely was third, Hudson Turpin was fourth, and Andrew Whelan was fifth.

The Jr. Heavy race was one of the best races of the day. Joshua Shantz and Darren Dryden finished side by side, with Shantz just slightly ahead, claiming the victory. Justin Collison finished in third, Jared Gill was fourth, and Tyler Turnbull claimed the fifth place spot.

In Sr. Medium, it was Adam Racine with the win, David Miller was second, James Moore third, Tristan Gill fourth, and Samuel Buckler finished fifth . In the Masters class veteran racer Brian Wilkinson took home the victory, Gerry Reis was second, Bob Bailey crossed the line in third, eKartingNews.ca's Rob Howden was fourth, and Rich Mizener was fifth.

The Waterloo Regional Kart Club is Canada’s largest 4 cycle Honda racing club. The next race is on Saturday May 12th, at the club home track at Flamboro Speedway. Practice starts at 8:00 am.
