ECKC Online Registration Reminder and Schedule Released

As the days continue to count down before the start of the third season of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship, set for May 25-27, at Goodwood Kartways in Stouffville, Ont., series officials are reminding competitors to complete their Rounds One & Two event registration. Event schedules have also been released, stirring up excitement, as Canada’s premier karting series is about to get underway.

Online registration is available at the ECKC series website and will close Wednesday, May 16, at 5:00 pm, while the deadline for competitors to have their name published in the official ECKC event brochure has been extended to midnight on May 14. Be sure to complete the registration in time to be featured in this exciting new addition in 2012, which will be distributed to all event attendees. As a reminder, online registration will not only save competitors from standing in long lines, but will also save drivers the $20 administration service fee for trackside registration. Get the registration completed now, and get ready for the start of the 2012 Eastern Canadian Karting Championship!

The Rounds One & Two event schedules have also been posted to the ECKC website. Competitors will take to the newly renovated Goodwood facility on Thursday for open practice from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with registration open from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Friday will see official, organized event practice again from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, followed by registration and tire sales. A full Thursday-Friday schedule can be found HERE. Gates will open at 7:00 am on Saturday (May 26) and Sunday (May 27) for the first two rounds of the 2012 ECKC season. A driver’s meeting at 8:15 am will be followed by the full slate of warm-up, qualifying, prefinals, finals, and podium presentations. Saturday will also see a special re-dedication ceremony of the Goodwood track. Saturday’s full schedule can be found HERE and Sunday’s HERE.

Details on ECKC series class information, as well as tire, fuel, and oil specifications can be found in the ECKC Series Supplementary Regulations and all necessary forms necessary for registration can be found on the ECKC website. Get ready to get the season underway!

The Eastern Canadian Karting Championship is an ASN-sanctioned, four round, six race series with venues in both Ontario and Quebec. Now in its third year, the ECKC will start off the 2012 season at Goodwood Kartways in Stouffville, Ont., on May 26-27 for the first doubleheader weekend. Circuit ICAR will host the third race in Mirabel, Que., on June 17, followed by the second double-race weekend at Mosport International Karting in Bowmanville, Ont., on June 30-July 1. The series will conclude at the Monaco Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres on July 29, the prestigious street race set at the site of the GP3R at Exposition Park. The Eastern Canadian Karting Championship is a Rotax Max Challenge series, and will award Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals tickets to the Rotax Senior, Rotax Junior, Rotax DD2, and Rotax DD2 Masters class champions. In 2012, the Briggs & Stratton classes will contest the series six-race series, making up a national four-stroke championship.
