ST-ROCH-DE-L'ACHIGAN, QUE. (June 20, 2012) - This weekend was held the third round of the Quebec Cup (Saturday) and Eastern Canadian Karting Championship (Sunday). The team SRA/Birel who was present at Circuit ICAR, and looked good all weekend.

Rotax Micro-Max racer William Chayer collected a superb second place on Saturday, and a fifth place finish the day after. Tommy Savard, who finished first on Saturday, was disqualified due to the displacement of an engine part during the race. He had a well managed race the very next day, earning him a second place.

Rotax Mini-Max driver Natael Cantin was one of the drivers to beat all weekend, with the second fastest time during qualifying on Saturday. Very strong, he gained a third and fifth in Sunday's races. Samuel Lupien, who is always good, finished third on Sunday after a heated battle and an exciting pass at the hairpin on the last lap!

In the Rotax Junior, five team drivers took the start with SRA/Birel products. Jeffrey Kingsley was victorious on Saturday, and added a second podium the next day with a third place finish. Olivier Bédard and Nicolas Doré experienced a rather difficult weekend. All weekend, both drivers were fastest on the track, but crashes and mechanical problems seriously hampered them. Cédrick Lupien, who was also very fast, finished seventh on Saturday. Allan Moreau meanwhile signed the 11th fastest time in qualifying on Saturday.

Regarding Rotax DD2, team SRA/Birel proved the quality of its products, and especially the talent of its drivers! Indeed, Ben Cooper, Christophe Boisclair, and Zachary Richard Robichon signed the best times, maintaining them to the final. It was Cooper who won both races, followed by teammate Boisclair. Robichon, meanwhile, engaged in several skirmishes that demoted him to the end of the pack.

Congratulations to the whole SRA/Birel team!
