| Western Canadian Championships Title Chase Resumes in Saskatoon |
The second round of the Western Canadian Championships takes place this weekend (July 7-8), with the Martensville kart track in Saskatoon, Sask, playing host to Races 3 & 4. With one round already in the books, the doubleheader will not only provide further insight into who is fighting for the championship titles, but also which Rotax DD2, Rotax Max, and Max Junior racers will earn invites to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final.
Sun and warm temperature are forecasted for the second doubleheader of the three-event six-race WCC. In DD2, local driver Scott Campbell will surely be the one to beat, having the advantage of knowing every square centimeters or the track. In Rotax Senior, it is expected the battle for top honors will once again feature Bryce Choquer and Chris Glover going head-to-head. In the Max junior class, Parker Thompson leads the standings, but the title is far from being decided.
Live timing will be offered during the event, but as it will be broadcast from a mobile hotspot for the first time, it is unsure if it will be as reliable as the opening British Colombia. Live timing will be available on smartphones via the race-monitor application, or on the web at http://www.maxchallenge.ca/wcc/live-timing/ . Live timing will start on Friday afternoon (July 6) around 2:30 pm local timing with the timed practices, with qualifying and races on Saturday and Sunday (July 7-8) commencing at 9 am on both days.
