The Waterloo Regional Kart Club members enjoyed a great summer day on Saturday July 14th at Flamboro Speedway that was perfect for racing. The racing was just as good as the weather. In more than half the classes the margin of victory for the winner was less than a second over second place, and once there was so many cadet racers the class had to be split.
The feature class sponsor for the day was John M Dryden Autobody Technician. Mr Dryden started leaning his craft when he was a young teenager and purchased a 1965 mustang he used to learn the family trade under the watchful eye of his father. It wasn’t long after that he started a career in the autobody repair business that has seen him work at many car dealers. Dryden started his own business almost 10 years ago, and he provides a full range of autobody and automotive painting services, but his specialty is doing collision repair work. He would be happy to provide a free estimate for any collision repairs, custom painting and panel fabrication. Dryden’s business is located in Flamboro, and he can be reached at 905-977-0292.
Looking at the Feature race action, the Cadet A win went to Luke Pero, ahead of Josh Bisschop, Keidon Fletcher, Trevor Robillard, and Liam Rhodes.
In Cadet B, Jarret Balzer was the victor, in front of Carson Nagy, Blaine Robinson, Haydon Dawson, and Karly Colling.
The top honors in Novice was taken by Aaron Turnbull, over Ciarra Collison, Tyson Wassink, Madison Colling, and Tristan Da Silva.
The Jr. Lite win was taken by Austin Bisschop, leading Kaitlin Neely, Jordan Howse, Steven Murdock, and Andrew Whelan to the stripe.
Dylan Penney was the driver to beat in Jr. Heavy, edging Justin Collison, Justin Russell, Tyler Turnbull, and Kenny Rockwell.
Sr. Medium witnessed David Miller taking the win, over Adam Racine, Tristan Gill, Brandon Hauck, and Brock Regan.
The Masters victory was taken by Gerry Reis, ahead of Bob Bailey, John Dryden, Jerrid Morphy, and Sandy Murdock.
The next race for the Waterloo Regional Kart Club is the annual night race, which will be held on Friday July 27th. It is always one of the most exciting events of the year, and will feature a qualifying session followed by a pre-final and final race. The races will start at approximately 7 pm.
