TORONTO, ONT. (July 20, 2012) – With an eye on making a mark both on and off the race track, Ontario F1200 Championship squad Spencer Todd Racing is excited to announce it has joined forces with VooDooAir™, a world leading airbrushing company based in Canada.
Spencer Todd Racing is committed to challenging for Ontario F1200 Championship top honors and progressing up the North American motorsports ladder. With that goal in mind, the second-year team has formed a partnership with renowned airbrusher Gerald McLaughlin and his VooDooAir™ brand and crazy “VooDoo Crew”. A world leader in airbrushing, VooDooAir™ is handling the livery of the Spencer Todd Racing's BRD chassis in the highly-competitive F1200 Championship.
"I think with the backing from VoodooAir™, we will continue to challenge for race wins in Formula 1200," stated Todd. "I look forward to promoting Gerald's fantastic work throughout my career, and I hope to progress into something larger next season with the right amount of support."
"We are pleased to have partnered with Spencer Todd Racing in the Ontario F1200 Championship," added McLaughlin. "Spencer is a rising stellar talent and is an ideal format to promote and showcase our new VooDooAir™ brand. We look forward to seeing the Spencer Todd Racing team in victory lane."
Owned and operated by up-and-coming racer Spencer Todd, the Ontario-based squad is currently in its second season of junior formula car competition. After a very successful career in the karting ranks, winning multiple races and championships, Todd made the transition to the Ontario F1200 Championship in 2011. Despite being the youngest series driver, Todd showcased his talents as a rookie, highlighted by a pole position and podium in the season-finale at Mosport International Raceway. Thus far in 2012, the single-car team has continued its progression, earning one pole position, a third place, and two runner-up finishes, including just missing an inaugural F1200 win during the Canada Day Grand Prix event at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (formerly Mosport) by a mere 0.050s.
Founded in 1985 by McLaughlin, VooDooAir™ has evolved into a world leader in highly detailed airbrush art. Now based in Pickering Ont., the company has airbrushed a vast array of objects, including cars, sporting goods, and musical pieces, and created numerous works of art. Items of note include Canadian National Ski and Bobsleigh team helmets, Canadian Olympic Baseball and Softball team helmets, American Olympic Baseball team helmets, Major League Baseball catcher helmets, National Hockey League goaltender masks, Stylemaster Motorcycles, the radical “Badlands” motorcycle for Rumble Customs (winner of America’s Most Beautiful Motorcycle at the very prestigious Oakland Roadster Show), DeWalt Tools Canada’s “Lightning” chopper motorcycle for Yurko Custom Choppers (a Grand Champ winner), custom paint on the World’s Largest Guitar (Circa 1989), over 20 album and cd covers, tour merchandise, guitars, basses, drum kits and drum skins for major recording acts, paint jobs for promotional vehicles for major corporations and car audio companies, custom paint jobs on cigarette boats for the Emir of Bahrain, and 20 sculptures for Caesar’s Palace Casino Interior in Las Vegas. McLaughlin recently registered the trademark brand of VooDooAir™, with products such as Airbrushes, Spray Guns, and other Custom Paint related services and items for sale in North America.
The VooDooAir™ backed Spencer Todd Racing team continues its pursuit of Ontario F1200 Championship top honors on August 4-5, with Rounds 10,11, and 12 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park outside of Bowmanville, Ont.
