TROIS-RIVIERES, QUE. (July 29, 2012) - The fifth round of the Coupe du Québec championship took place this Saturday as part of the Petit Monaco event in Trois-Rivières. Team SRA Karting was on fire at the beginning of the day but the results in the final races where not as good as expected. Nevertheless, they finished the day with four podiums.
In DD2, Ben Cooper took the second place in the qualifying session and won the pre-final and final races. Christophe Boisclair also climbed on the podium when he finished third.
In Mini-Max, Nathael Cantin got a good start with the pole and a win in pre-final, but a contact in the final race put an end to his race. Samuel Lupien took the relay and went on the podium on the third place. Christopher Rizk finished fifth, and Adams Lessard couldn’t finish.
Micro-Max driver Thomas Simard scored another podium with a third place. Williams Chayer did not finish.
The day was a bit difficult for the Junior Max drivers. This class was the biggest with 30 entries, and times were very close. Jeffrey Kingsley was the best Birel representative with a seventh place, Nicholas Doré finished 10th, and Olivier Bédard finished 12th after starting 27th on the grid.
