TROIS-RIVIERES, QUE. (August 8, 2012) – North American karting powerhouse PSL Karting is ready to take on the 2012 Rotax Max Challenge United States Grand Nationals at the Jet Karting of Michiana Raceway Park facility. As the reigning DD2 National Champion with team driver Kristina Vorndran, a strong team of nine pilots will look to add to PSL Karting's storied history. Vorndran will be back to defend her title, and will be joined by names such as Alan Rudolph and Fritz Leesmann. With national titles up for grabs, as well as Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals invitations, Team PSL Karting will lay it all on the line this week at the 11-turn, 0.74-mile course.
Boston's Vorndran will be back to defend her Rotax DD2 title. A smart strategy at the 2011 edition of the US Rotax Nationals at Miller Motorsports Park saw Vorndran become the first female National DD2 Champion. Looking to repeat that effort this year, and earn a return invite with Team USA to the RMCGF, Vorndran is primed and ready for the challenge. At the gear-up Rotax Summer Shootout at the same MRP facility in early July, Vorndran swept the entire weekend, and if history does in fact repeat itself, Vorndran and PSL can look to score yet another DD2 title in 2012.

Two huge names are set to take on the Rotax DD2 Masters category, as Alan Rudolph and Rene Martinelli will be back in action this week with Team PSL Karting. After the two duked it out in the 2012 Florida Winter Tour, both will be looking to become the US Rotax DD2 Masters champ. While Arizona resident and karting legend Rudolph ended his FWT campaign with the title and corresponding RMCGF berth, he would like nothing more than to come out on top again, this time as the US National champion. Martinelli will certainly be on his game this week however, as the Florida resident will be looking to not only take the title, but secure his own place on Team USA.
The Rotax Senior class will see California native and shifter kart hot shoe Leesmann vying for his second major title of 2012. After taking the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas Rotax DD2 title back in early April, Leesmann will try for the Senior title this Saturday. Leesmann was impressive in his FWT Senior effort, scoring a win and a podium against some huge competition. Joining Leesmann will be PSL newcomer Dan Roeper. The Florida native recently posted two solid top-10 finishes at the Rotax Summer Shootout, and will look to continue his strong runs on his CRG ride.
Sandy, Utah's Austin Versteeg will be the lone pilot in the Rotax Junior division. Despite his rookie status in the class, Versteeg has posted some impressive results in his 2012 campaign. Scoring podium finishes in both the Gatorz series as well as the SuperKarts! USA program, Versteeg will be looking to score another podium result this weekend. The 2011 FWT Mini Max champion added another podium result during the Rotax Summer Shootout, and has been building his strength and confidence leading up to this week's events.

Rounding out the Team PSL Karting driver line-up are three talented Rotax Mini Max pilots. Leading the way is Mini Max hot shoe and Miami, Florida resident Matthew Thomas. Visiting the Jet Karting/MRP facility for the first time at the Rotax Summer Shootout, Thomas posted some impressive results and will look to carry that momentum into this week. Joining Thomas is new PSL recruit, Colorado's David Rafailov, as well as California resident Horatio Fitz-Simon.
Team PSL Karting has already arrived on site and has been on track for unofficial event practice Monday and Tuesday, working to prepare their CRGs for official on track activity, which started today with official practice. Thursday will see the team on track for qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action with heat one. Heats two and three will follow on Friday. The national titles and RMCGF invites will play out during Saturday's events, which will see the prefinals set the grid for the intense and exciting main events. Live video as well as timing and scoring will be available at http://www.kartracingnetwork.com beginning Thursday, August 9 at 10am Eastern Time.
