In 2012, the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal will play host to the prestigious event, and as expected, Canada will be well represented looking to add to its world championship tally, having previously won DD2 (2011, 2010 & 2007), DD2 Masters (2010 & 2006), and Nations Cup (2007).
In preparation for the Grand Finals, eKartingNews.ca has spoken with several of the 2012 Team Canada members to discuss this year's event. Ottawa, Ont., resident Zach Robichon will race in DD2 against 68 other racers, having earned his place on Team Canada as the runner-up at the Canadian Karting Championships.

The Western Canadian Championships got underway in Chilliwack last weekend and in just two days, East Coast karters will get their opportunity to sample the new pavement at Goodwood Kartways when the Eastern Canadian Karting Championships (ECKC) fires up its 2012 campaign. Spots on Team Canada for this year’s Rotax Grand Finals in Portugal will be on the line for the frontrunners, so it’s easy to see why racers are now getting excited.
