When the Waterloo Regional Kart Club (WRKC) returned to action for Race number 11 of the 2010 season it was a case of the point’s leaders in every class other than Novice adding to their lead.  With 3 races to go in the 2010 season there is a tight battle for the championship in many of the classes which will make for some great racing as the club finishes the season out with 3 straight races starting on September 11th.

he Kawartha Durham Kart Club held its inaugural non-points invitational race at Kawartha Speedway, Fraserville on Friday, August 23. The race was held in front of a large crowd on hand to watch Kawartha Speedway’s regular Friday night stock cars.
 
Utilizing all corners and the front straight of the 3/8 mile oval and the club’s regular infield road portion, gearing was the big question of the night and those that found the “sweet spot” were able to pull away from the large field.  ...]]></description>

On August 14th Staples Auto Service sponsored IKC first night race and it was a great success.

Practice began at 5pm with racing starting at 7pm.

The racing was amazing with some of the closest action I have witnessed in some time as all drivers wanted the pole position for the finals. When the sun went down the lights were turned on setting the stage for the finals. What a site to see the track all lit up.

            <title>Club News: Manitoba Karting Association - Race #7 Report</title>

The weather was hot and cloudy for Race # 7 of the Manitoba Karting Association Championship at Gimli Motorsport Park Sunday August 8th. There were a couple delays due to lightning but there was no rain except for a light drizzle. Sponsorship for the race was provided by SEG Enterprises.

In Honda Junior 1 # 43 Garrett Gulenchyn won the Pre-Final but # 67 Stephen Bachalo set a new track record (44.670) in the Final to get by Garrett for the win with # 95  ...]]></description>

With the club now well into the second half of the season the point’s battle for the class championships are starting to heat up.  The front runners are trying to build on their lead, and the rest of the field is scrambling for every point they can get to catch the leaders, or finish the year on a strong note.  All of this made for some great racing August 14th at Flamboro Speedway .

            <title>Club News: Manitoba Karting Association - WCC Stratotech Report</title>

A lot of Manitoba Karting Association members made the trek to the Western Canadian Championships at Stratotech Raceway Edmonton Alberta on July 31st and August 1st for Rounds 5 and 6. Stratotech Raceway is a long and superfast track that provides for karts to go four wide through the corners with lots of drafting. The weather was sunny and very hot both days.

Visiting racers are welcome to take part for only $65. Be sure to present your license at registration. Friends and family are encouraged to come and watch for free and take advantage of the new permanent grandstands at Kawartha Speedway.

This coming Saturday Night IKC will be having their first NIGHT race Sponsored by STAPLES AUTO SERVICE Woodville Ont. And on Sunday August 15th we are hosting SKC for an inter-club race Sponsored by CANADIAN TIRE (Fergus Ont.).

The lighting is being supplied by CANADIAN RENTAL CENTERS Concord Ont. So we will be able to light up the whole track for some very exciting racing.

This coming Sunday MIKA will be hosting Race # 8 on the 2010 Schedule and as always we can expect to see another great day’s racing with strong numbers in all the classes, including the always competitive Honda Masters class. This weekend’s track configuration will be the “Long Track excl Turn 3” configuration run in the ‘Counter Clockwise’ direction.
