02-Nov-2009 15:09 PST Back | Print Article

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ten Go-karts and related equipment worth approximately $100,000 were stolen in Goodwood in early September and suspects remain at large.

DRPS investigators report between the 4th and 19th of September 2009, a number of break, enter and theft incidents were reported to police. Suspects entered the property of Goodwood Kartways, in the Township of Uxbridge, and stole 10 go-karts, racing suits, generators and related parts and equipment valued at $100,000. The go-karts are the Italian Concept Intrepid brand and are easily identifiable by their distinct orange, black, and red design, and by their side profile “Intrepid” decals.

Two go-karts have been recovered. One was located in York Region, in the Stouffville-Whitchurch area and the second was found on Wagg Road in the Township of Uxbridge.

A suspect vehicle is described as: a silver/white Dodge Dakota pick-up truck. No descriptors of suspects are known.

The investigation is ongoing. Images of the stolen go-karts are attached.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of any of these items, is asked to contact D/C Shawn Finley at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2675 or D/C Kelleigh Traynor ext. 2677 of the 15 Division North Durham Criminal Investigative Bureau. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Well looks the fine folks in blue are making some headway. They arrested a Pickering man yesterday. Here is an article from the local paper sent in by Mike Morrison.
