EKN Trackside Live: Day One Action
Steve:
I hope she does. All the drivers are at the Welcome Party tonight. A great event to mingle before the racing action. The line up for Team USA and Team Canada look really good. Everyone setup the their karts today and there is a real buzz starting to build.
I have to say the folks at CRG and Maranello are amazing. They cruised the paddock and helped everyone. They really want the best for every driver and they dug right in and grabbed wrenches. The Maranello the Juniors are using looks really good. A nice kart to put together. Everyone in Senior and DD2 seem really happy with their gear. There is a new paddle shift system on the DD2's that everyone is geeking about.
The Juniors are stuck on the old D1 so they will have their work cut out for them this week. Many of the European countires like Belgium use the D1 all year long so they have a good handle on the tire.
If anyone has any D1 advice for our US and Canadian drivers that would be great. Let's all chip in and get a win for North America _________________ Jeff Grist

Good Luck! _________________ Dru Gallagher - DD2 Lucky #13 |

EKN Trackside Live: Day Two Action
Good morning all from Egypt. The first practice session is in the books. No transponders will be on karts today. Based on what we could gather from the throng of tuners, in Junior Nick Neri was quick, in Senior Marco Dileo was fast and in DD2 Scott Campbell looked very good. The track is still way off as the sand is in every crack and crease in the track. There is some grass around the edges but when a kart runs wide there is a huge dust cloud. We are literally situated in a sand bowl. Second round is about to begin.
We'll have some pics up shortly. Most of the photogrpahers are now on site and beginning to shoot away. I will also be posting the updated and official driver/number line up for each class for the North American drivers. Be sure to check out our reports and cheer on your favorite drivers. _________________ Jeff Grist

Scott Campbell is returning to Egypt for the 2nd time. He should be strong having been on the track before, may be an advantage for him.
The entire Canadian team looks to be the strongest ever!
We should do very well i think. |
