Through the 90's I watched three karters with great enthusiasm. Anthony Davidson, Jenson Button and Dan Wheldon. Jenson and Dan had great battles in karting. Both moved to FF before Dan came to North America to pursue his career.
Through the junior ranks Dan Wheldon was very very fast, a race winner but a little unlucky for over-all championships.
Finally, in Indy Cars he proved he was championship material at Indy 2 times as well as the over-all drivers title.
His first Indy 500 title was very special but this past May Dan's last corner victory was very emotional.
My condolences to Dan Wheldon's family. He was a great champion! |
