Hello boys and girls! There is just one week to go before the first Ontario Regional Karting Championship race takes the green at Goodwood Kartways. This thread will serve as the Official Discussion for the upcoming opener and ekartingnews.ca will be trackside for event one posting results as karts exit the track after each session. Keep your discussion to the event only, and as always, support your team and drivers here, minding your manners of course.

With all the buzz surronding the opening round of the ORKC, eKartingNews.ca has learned that Australian Scott Saunders and British Columbia resident Lorenzo Mandarino will take part in the weekend's action.

Saunders, who competeing the Rotax Senior class at this year's Florida Winter Tour, is confirmed with the Cameron Motorsports squad aboard a CRG. Saunders will battle with some of Canada's finest senior drivers in the opening round at Goodwood Kartways.

Making the trek across Canada, former Star Mazda race winner Lorenzo Mandarino will make his ORKC debut. Mandarino will be aboard a Pserra Kart as he looks to take the checkers in ICC.

Stay tuned for results as they become available.

Mandarino ran Rotax all day today. Only one shifter to be seen.

Sunday If we can locate a rad we will run shifter.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the info on Mandarino. I guess the original plan was to run shifter but it seems as the Rotax class is where the competition is.
